Yannick made his first movies when he was twelve, and there’s a good reason they don’t show up in his filmography. But the passion stuck and after school and civilian service he started working at a casting agency in 1998 to get a foot in the door of the media circus. In 1999 he was admitted to the Billy Wilder Institute for Film and Television Studies and, with a brief stint at the Columbia College Hollywood, was trained in the art and technique of screenwriting under the patronage of the legendary writer and director. In 2001 he was hired by Sony Pictures Film und Fernsehproduktions GmbH as a staff writer for their successful sitcoms “Ritas Welt”, “Nikola” and “Mein Leben & Ich” and has since helped create and write a multitude of shows for the company. He writes about himself in the third person, but only because doing so in the first person would make him feel even more uncomfortable.
